Pacific Hermitage

The Pacific Hermitage is nestled along a forested stretch of White Salmon’s Jewett Creek and is the home of a small group of Theravada Buddhist monks.  Established in the summer of 2010, the Hermitage is a place of solitude for these monks who devote their lives to meditation and simple living. The monks walk daily through the town of White Salmon to accept donations of food, and are available to the community as a spiritual resource.

Every Tuesday, the Monks of the Pacific Hermitage lead meditation and offer teachings at Yoga Samadhi. All are welcome. No registration is necessary and no meditation experience is needed for the 6:30 PM Meditation & Dharma. These events are freely offered, however donations to help support the monks are appreciated.

Silent Meditation (5:15-6:15 PM): A silent sitting for experienced meditators. Must stay for entire session.

Meditation & Dharma (6:30-8 PM): Meditation and short reflection.
