Celebrate Winter Solstice with Kirtan!
Dec 21 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Celebrate Winter Solstice with Kirtan! @ Yoga Samadhi

Join Finn Anderson and friends for an evening of traditional kirtan, medicine songs, and bhakti philosophy to celebrate the winter solstice. Experience the energy and vibrations of communal singing as we gather and set intentions for the new year.

What is Kirtan?
Kirtan is the sacred tradition of call-and-response chanting, brought to us from India. Kirtan is one of the principal activities of Bhakti Yoga (the path of devotion). The chants come from the Hindu tradition, but people of all faiths and cultural backgrounds participate in kirtan. It is in essence a meditation – connecting to the Divine and each other, opening our hearts and quieting our minds. Everyone participating contributes to the experience, emanating loving energy to the universe.

RSVP not required.
Donation greatly appreciated.

Sufi Dervish Whirling – 2 Day Workshop
Jan 11 @ 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Sufi Dervish Whirling - 2 Day Workshop @ Yoga Samadhi

Sufi is a Mystic path. It is the ancient wisdom of the heart, and the path of love born from that wisdom. This group in a meditative process using different methods, like rhythm, breath, music, dance, voice, sound, poetry, to enter a state of emptiness.

Zikr is sufi way of chanting. “Zikr” (Remembrance), an essential Sufi method, will bring us in touch with different layers of our being. Its waves will deepen and expand the different qualities of human consciousness and take us to the silent lake of our being.

Dervish whirling is a Sufi centering dance. Whirling symbolizes and represents man’s unity with the cosmos; it is a movement where we dissolve ourselves with a world that cannot be understood with our mind, it has to be felt with the heart.

This gathering is a process of emptying ourselves, a process, an atmosphere where love and wildness flower into meditation.

This Sufi group will be a deep immersion into our inner world, an exploration of the love and wisdom we all carry in our being. A Remembrance of the joyful song, and luminous silence, of existence.

“By knowing the mysteries of our own heart, we begin to resonate with the mysteries of existence”.

BIO:
Meera Ekin- A Sufi Whirling Facilitator
Her spiritual journey began at the age of 17. She started her journey by training under various spiritual teachers and sufi masters from India in Gurdjieff Sacred Movements, Satori, Somatic experiences, Sufi meditations and techniques of active meditations. In the process she found herself drawn to the lost ancient art of Sufi Whirling.

Her inner fire for the spiritual search kept increasing and she was blessed to have found a Sufi Master from Turkey. From him, she learnt practices of the Mevlevi Sufi order which is the order of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi, popularly known as the poet Rumi. She trained under him for 5 years in Sufi Whirling and Zikr i.e. chanting. The experiences she has had were an overflowing of blessings in her heart and she started sharing her insights at the age of 24. Since, her journey has been focused towards teaching this meditative dance across the world through Sufi Whirling workshops. She has spent over 5000 hours in these workshops and has taught 1000s of women which helped them through issues of depression, pregnancy mood swings, empowerment, inner peace, anger management, etc.
