Subhadra Katz

Raised in an ashram, Subhadra’s journey with yoga began as a child, which she naturally rejected as a young adult. It’s not surprising that in classic fashion, life has brought her full circle. What started as a few yoga classes at a gym has since evolved into a deep commitment to live yoga off the mat.

For Subhadra, this means freedom from self-imposed limitations that are habitual and often mistaken for our identity. She believes that it is our privilege and obligation to unwind the holding patterns each of us has, to heal our wounding, and to find full expression of who we are. This can only be realized when really come home to our bodies.

“The vehicle of yoga enables me to discover that the incessant noise in my head is not who I am, that my body isn’t simply a vehicle for carrying my head around. It is a source of ancient knowing. Becoming intimate with and learning to trust that wisdom gives me access to the vastness of my true nature. This is the miracle I am happy to be practicing and sharing. It is truly an honor.”

Subhadra’s Vinyasa classes focus on building each pose from the inside with breath as the ultimate guide. Building intensity and moving with integrity creates a container for students to learn about themselves. Her Yin classes are a natural platform for developing a meditation practice. She is RYT 200 certified through YogaFit and her training includes intensives with Sarah Powers and Tias Little.
