Mo Phelan

What should you expect from Mo’s classes? They are best described as a potpourri. She mixes movement with holding poses. With a light heart, you will deepen your poses, increase your awareness of breath and hopefully transfer your mat practice to the rest of life.

Mo’s yoga journey began in college. She had no prior experience with yoga, decided to take a class. As the class slipped into Savasana (Corpse), she didn’t understand why everyone was pretending to be asleep. Regardless of the odd sleeping environment, she was hooked.

In the following years, Mo led an early retirement lifestyle (now she has to work!). She was moving and travelling often. This allowed for exposure to different yoga teachers and styles, such as Iyengar, Sivananda, Anusara and more. She began taking classes, workshops and several week long retreats.

Mo’s teaching began when she incorporated morning yoga sessions into her Outward Bound courses. These sessions were in the most magnificent natural places from Alaska to Costa Rica. Linking self discovery in the wilderness with yoga is a perfect blend.

Craving a deeper self expansion, she enrolled in a year long Teacher Training, Registered Yoga Teacher. Mo learned sequencing, anatomy and yoga philosophy. The greatest learning was how to work with your limitations and see them as an opportunity for growth.
