Heidi Ribkoff

Although Heidi was introduced to yoga as a teen, it was her pregnancies and ultimately a sports injury that brought her back to the mat. She has been seriously practicing yoga for almost 20 years. Heidi was drawn to develop her personal practice and ultimately go on to become a certified teacher because of the wonderful benefits that transcend the body.

Certified by YogaFit, she continues to take workshops & training as much as possible, with teachers as varied as Holiday Johnson and Susie Hately, and Shiva Rea. She believes that learning is life-long journey. Heidi embraces a mostly

Vinyasa, flow-style yoga, allowing the breath along with inspiring music to create meditation in motion. Heidi also encourages an emphasis on Iyengar & Viniyoga where appropriate. She believes in our body’s innate wisdom to find the right balance between effort & ease in every pose, as well as modifying and adjusting where needed. Every body is different!

“It is all about finding that balance, both on and off the mat. … To me, yoga is a way of life… it seeps into our lives way beyond the mat, into our relationships with others, the choices we make and how we approach the challenges that life presents us.”

Fortunate to live in an area as wonderful as the Gorge, Heidi spends as much time playing outdoors as she can: skiing, hiking, biking, running, paddling and sailing…. and whatever other sport comes her way!
