Connie Garrant
Connie teaches well-crafted vinyasa yoga with a healthy dose of humor and heart, designed to take all levels of yoga students toward challenging asana while honoring the divinity that rests at the core of this practice. There are natural breaking points in every asana, so no matter where you are there is always something you can do. Her classes are led with emphasis and awareness of the breath and how each inhale, gap, or exhale influences the form. There’s lots of hands on support and always time for questions.
In an effort to balance all the activity and doing (yang) that goes on in life, Connie teaches a quiet and meditative Yin yoga. With lots of direction, Connie will guide you through a series of floor postures that are held for 3-7minutes and designed to open the fascia tissue of the hips, shoulders and spine. What looks easy from the outside, may be intensely challenging on the inside. Learn the gift of how to be still. Learn to quiet the endless chatter of the mind and make space for new ideas and perspectives. Learn how to find comfort and ease in the uncomfortable as you allow the creation of space, not only in the physical body, but in your mind and heart. This class may come to be your greatest teacher.
Play your edges as you sink into floor poses for 5 minute intervals. Cultivate receptivity as you challenge yourself to surrender! Soften into shapes that open your hips, shoulders and spine as you balance out all the activity in your life. Discover how intense this meditative practice can be and how much it can add to your yoga practice and life. Perfect for beginners.
